TUFO MUTO

A performance for tape, four percussion, rock group, and two wind ensembles, produced by Pinotto Fava for Audiobox (RAI radio) in 1990, in the stone quarry of Matera, Italy. Fava: "The voices of people from Matera, two groups of instrumentalists perched on top, an aggressive indigenous rock group, electronic interludes, and live samples assailed the audience from all sides where they stood at the bottom of a huge quarry, 120 meters by 40, blessed with natural quadriphonics that created poignant evanescences, fugues, imitations, and superimpositions of sound."
